AA is for everyone regardless of sex, race, sexual orientation, age–you name it.  The disease does not discriminate.  I usually attend meetings with mostly men–women might make up about 20% of a meeting in general so when a special conference for women is available, I always jump at the opportunity.  It’s really great to share our struggles, although not unique, sometimes they are easier to discuss with other women.  If you haven’t gone on to a conference or an AA retreat, do so–it’s like a breath of fresh air for your recovery.  You come back inspired, geeked and excited about being sober.  For more info on this conference, visit the website Michigan Women’s Conference.
